A Letter from the President

Welcome to Temple Shalom of Port Charlotte.

Whether you're exploring our community for the first time or have been connected to Temple Shalom for years, I'm glad you're here. Our congregation has a long and meaningful history in Charlotte County—one rooted in tradition, guided by Reform Jewish values, and sustained by the warmth and dedication of our members.

Temple Shalom began as a small group of families gathering in one another’s homes, united by a shared desire to build a Jewish community in Southwest Florida. Today, we are proud to be a vibrant and inclusive congregation that offers meaningful worship, lifelong learning, and opportunities to connect socially and spiritually.

As president, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand how much heart our members bring to everything we do—from Friday night services and holiday celebrations to educational programs, social action projects, and community events. This is a place where individuals and families come to feel supported, inspired, and part of something larger.

If you're considering joining Temple Shalom, I encourage you to come to a service, attend a program, or reach out with any questions. We’re a welcoming and down-to-earth congregation, and there’s always room for you here.

Thank you for your interest in Temple Shalom. We look forward to getting to know you and growing together.

Warmly,
Judith Migdol, Board President
